First part (juz’) of a Qur’an
This juz’ uses the Sini muhaqqaq script, a type of muhaqqaq used in China that features vocalization and diacritics. Chinese Qur’ans of the Qing dynasty (1644-1911) were produced during the 17th century and the 18th century. The frontispiece double-page of this section of the Qur’an is composed of 3 lines with gold borders illuminated and decorated with floral medallions.
