Organised by the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, represented by the Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zaid Al-Mahmoud Islamic Cultural Centre, and the Museum of Islamic Art (MIA), this international competition is aimed at preserving the Arabic language, serving the Holy Qur'an and promoting Arabic calligraphy as an art form.

Al-Raqim competition represents a visual image of the identity of a rising nation, serving as a bridge of beauty between peoples and nations. It aims to bring the soul together with words in support of the Arabic language, enrich the national and Arab identity, revive Islamic culture and its arts, and strengthen dialogue and cultural exchange between peoples and nations.
