The seven Qatari artists featured in Ektashif: India showcase an array of talents across sketches, photography and installations, reflecting their experiences exploring India’s rich heritage and traditional arts.

Maryam Al Sada

Maryam Al Sada views art as a universal language of dialogue and has a deep passion for its many forms. Particularly fascinated by Qatari architecture, especially old doors, Al Sada has participated in many local exhibitions, including a solo exhibition titled The Story of a Door in 2015.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Marketing from Qatar University (QU).

Shaikha Al Kuwari

Shaikha Al Kuwari has a lifelong passion for art. Her work is inspired by nature—trees, the sky, and the sea. Recently, she has focused on portrait painting, blending artistic influences from various cultures to create unique and innovative pieces. Al Kuwari has showcased her work in many local events, exhibitions, and art workshops.

Abeer Al Kuwari

A multi-disciplinary artist renowned for her photography, Abeer Al Kuwari is the first female member of the Qatar Photographic Society. Her artistic range spans painting, photography, and sculpture, while her style is characterised by careful study and a strong interest in Qatari heritage, social life, and folklore. Her approach moves fluidly between documentary and contemporary art styles.

Haifa Al Khuzai

Haifa Al Khuzai is a visual artist and follows an abstract style with mixed media techniques, drawing inspiration from the Qatari environment. She has held several solo exhibitions and participated in numerous local and international shows. In this exhibition, her paintings express the strong cultural connection between Qatar and India through intricate patterns and thoughtful colour choices.

Al Khuzai holds a diploma in fine arts from France and a bachelor’s degree in Art Education from Qatar University (QU).

Eman Al Saad

Eman Al Saad holds a bachelor’s degree in English literature from Qatar University (QU). She specialises in Arabic calligraphy, gilding, and Islamic ornamentation, while her artwork draws elements from Islamic manuscripts. She has participated in many local exhibitions.

Jameela Al Ansari

Jameela Al Ansari is an art education graduate and  has been passionate about colours since childhood, embracing them as a way of life. She is drawn to lines, patterns, and Arabic calligraphy, and has shown her work in many local and international exhibitions.

Maryam Al Majid

Maryam Al Majid holds a bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design from Virginia Commonwealth University School of the Arts Qatar (VCUarts Qatar). Maryam excels in clothing and jewellery design and has showcased creativity in calligraphy, ornamentation, and ceramics. Currently, she focuses on gift wrapping and packaging using distinctive fabrics and paper.
