Using MIA's collection, along with historical scripts and objects from the exhibition, children and parents will explore the artefacts that tell the story of this rich trading tradition. In addition, families will also engage in hands-on activities with organic spices, learning about their origins, uses and aromas. Experience a fun and educational day filled with history, discovery and sensory exploration!
Travel back in time and uncover the fascinating world of spice trade in the Islamic world. In conjunction with the A Seat at the Table: Food & Feasting in the Islamic World exhibition at the Museum of Islamic Art (MIA), families will embark on an interactive journey, discovering how spices were transported across ancient trade routes and their importance in daily life, culture and cuisine.
