The Hour and Hour programme, in cooperation with the Museum of Islamic Art, is organizing an event celebrating the Qatar-Morocco Year of Culture, highlighting the rich cultural heritage of Morocco and Qatar. Through a series of engaging activities and performances, we aim to showcase the strong cultural ties between the two nations and explore points of convergence in their heritage.

Event Programme

Master of Ceremonies: Abeer Al-Hajri

Opening Ceremony | 3–4pm (Auditorium)

  • Welcome Speeches
  • Holy Quran Recitation: Mustafa Lachgar
  • National Anthems: Qatar National Anthem (Al Khor Model School for Boys) and Moroccan National Anthem (Charlemagne International School)
  • Museum Director (MIA): Shaikha Al Nasr or Aisha Al Naama (Head of Community Outreach)
  • CEO of Hour and Hour Programme: Tamani Al Yafei
  • Musical Reception: Duet by Qatari musician Ahmed Abdul Rahim and Moroccan musician Abdul Hafeez Al-Hajjaji
  • Poetry Reading: Qatari poet Moza bint Abdulrahman Al-Misnad and Moroccan poet Amal Yahyaoui
  • Drama Performance: "Principles of Hospitality" featuring Qatari and Moroccan students
  • Honoring the sponsors and participants in the ceremony

  • Moroccan Folklore: Featuring Al-Asawi traditional performance | 6pm
