Geometry & Calligraphy

Past Event

Learn about different forms of calligraphy and geometry and create your own piece of art.

Calligraphy was used to write Qur’anic verses and sometimes entire chapters. At times, calligraphy was limited to the repetition of a certain phrase, endlessly intertwined within geometric confines.

In this workshop, participantswill explore different forms of calligraphy and geometry found in MIA's gallery collection. They will then create their own artwork by combining different elements from each piece in the collection.
