Nasta’liq was used and developed in Iran and the Ottoman states – it was known as Naskh Tal'eq in the former and as Tal'iq in the latter.

This form of script was invented by distinguished Iranian calligrapher Mir Ali Al-Tabreezi in the 15 century, and is characterised by its beauty, the accuracy of the length of its letters and its clarity.

This script workshop is most suitable for those who have already completed one of our other beginners calligraphy courses (ruq'ah or kufic).

Workshop lead: Hussein Ammar Ahmad
