Nasta’liq was used and developed in Iran and the Ottoman states – it was known as Naskh Tal'eq in the former and as Tal'iq in the latter.
This form of script was invented by distinguished Iranian calligrapher Mir Ali Al-Tabreezi in the 15 century, and is characterised by its beauty, the accuracy of the length of its letters and its clarity.
