Begin with a brief tour of the Uzbekistan: Heritage in Motion exhibition at the Museum of Islamic Art (MIA), exploring the floral motifs and decorative patterns found in traditional Uzbek ceramics.
Participants will then examine selected examples and learn how to draw and adapt traditional Uzbek floral motifs into their own designs.
Each participant will create a floral composition on a ceramic plate, inspired by the forms, colours, and patterns of Uzbekistan.
Participants will then paint their designs using a variety of ceramic painting and decorative techniques. The workshop offers a hands-on creative experience that connects the artistic heritage of Uzbekistan with contemporary ceramic making.
