Welcome to the Museum of Islamic Art. The official website is currently under construction and will relaunch shortly.
The Museum of Islamic Art is dedicated to reflecting the full vitality, complexity, and diversity of the arts of the Islamic world. It is a world-class collecting institution, which preserves, studies, and exhibits masterpieces spanning three continents—including countries across the Middle East, and reaching as far as Spain and India—from the 7th through the 19th centuries. As a centre for information, research, and creativity, the museum engages global audiences and serves as a platform for dialogue and cultural exchange.

Google Art Project
The Museum of Islamic Art is pleased to announce its partnership with the Google Art Project. An online collaboration between Google and the finest museums in the world, it allows users to explore a wide range of artworks at brushstroke level, take a virtual tour of a museum, and even build their own collections to share. Featuring over 151 internationally renowned museums, the Google Art Project offers art fans a world of paintings, sculptures, street art, and photographs with just a few mouse clicks.

Museum Library Re-Opens
The Museum of Islamic Art library will re-open to museum visitors today. Featuring a huge selection of books and periodicals about art, architecture, religion and the Middle East, it’s easy to spend hours exploring their selection.
The library will be open to the public Sun, Mon, Wed and Thursday from 12 noon until 5pm.
The Library will continue to serve staff during the regular work week, including Tuesday.
With private study areas and spectacular architecture, the Museum of Islamic Art library is a great destination for both casual visitors and serious researchers.
